Your Impact

YOU ARE HELPING US…

When you support Giving Kitchen, you ensure that our mission is carried out in the following key areas:

Financial Assistance

Giving Kitchen provides financial assistance to food service workers who are facing injury, illness, death of a family member, or housing disaster.

In times of crisis, supporters like you are helping food service workers who work in restaurants, catering, concessions, food trucks, cafeterias, bars and tap rooms. We work to keep the lights on, the water flowing, and the rent paid so that these workers can focus during their times of hardship.

Stability Network

Our Stability Network is a referral program to serve as a connection to social services for food service workers.

Through your support and partnerships with national, regional, and local service organizations, as well as curated services specific to Giving Kitchen referrals, our Stability Network has connected thousands of people to resources related to mental health & substance misuse, physical health and wellness, employment, housing & utilities, and family & social services.

“Giving Kitchen gives restaurant workers the chance to breathe a sigh of relief when the unexpected happens.”

Amber N., Manager, COVID-19

GK Mind Matters:

You help us to educate, advocate, inspire, and uplift when it comes to the mental and emotional well-being of food service workers.

As part of our stability network, we are able to provide relief to those struggling with mental and emotional difficulties through four series of education and resources. Some of the topics in these series include:

  • Anxiety Disorders and Depression Association of America (ADAA) — information to help understand anxiety and depression, find a therapist, and explore treatment options
  • The Happy Chef Project — workshops and guided meditations
  • Restaurant After Hours — mental health resources for the hospitality industry
  • QPR Suicide Prevention Training – a simple, 45-minute online course that prepares you to support a friend, family member, or teammate who is contemplating suicide. Giving Kitchen is proud to offer this course for free to any food service worker in the US
